Global real estate group Engel & Völkers is selling a 1,124-square-meter plot in Clifton, Cape Town, for R175 million, marking the most expensive piece of land per square metre on the market.
Clifton’s desirability and shortage of available space has seen the plot come onto the market for R155,694 per square metre.
The property, located in a top position Nettleton Road, offers great views of Table Mountain, the Twelve Apostles mountain range, and the famous Clifton beaches.
“As far as the eyes can reach, you will encounter ever-changing, mind-blowing views, be it sunrise or sunset,” Engel & Völkers said.
It said that the purchaser would be able to purchase approved building plans by Jenny Mills Architects to construct a multi-storey Villa, estimated at between R65 million and R75 million.
The Seeff Property Group’s research of average selling prices across the country in 2023 shows just how pricey residences in Clifton are.
Clifton was South Africa’s most expensive suburb, with a median of R25 million and a top of R150 million.
